salute the Bike Snob

Great post yesterday on Bike Snob:
http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com/

If you haven’t stopped by for a read on this blog, you’re missing some great commentary and critique of society. Witty, clever, comical, sometimes controversial, but all so true.

Now, initiating my own personal rant:
I feel the same contempt with society often, and I imagine you can find similar examples of cultural "evolution" no matter where you call home.

Our culture is steered by the media and our daily lives are saturated by social networking devices. It's really quite scary how dependent we are.

Then there's the IBM guy on the tube talking about how he's helping to develop a computer that can compete on Jeopardy and maybe even solve some issues us puny humans haven't figured out......(
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/13/watson-ibm-jeopardy-computer-_n_808774.html) ........it reminds me how technology is becoming dangerously close to obsoleting humans. Wasn’t there a movie(s) about machines taking over the world???

I could go on, and on, but let me stop here…..

end.
